Mira de Aire - The largest caves in Portugal
The little town of Mire De Aire, right in the heart of Portugal is home to the largest Caves in Portugal and only only around 45mins from Casa Rosden.
Just 15 km from Fátima and 110 km from Lisbon, this magnificant treasure of nature lay undiscovered for thousand of years. Although discovered in 1947 the beauty within these caves, was not opened to the public until 1974. Since then millions of visitors have been able to admire these impressive caves. A guide will take you down, some 110 metres below the earth, ( a total of 350 steps down ) before a comfortable return by lift to the surface.
At only €5 per tour, this is a ‘must do’ day out to add to your agenda.
