Conimbriga Roman Ruins
Classified as a National Monument, the Roman Ruins of Conimbriga are the largest and best preserved in Portugal and certainly worth a visit during your stay in Central Portugal. Located approximately and hour and 20minutes from Casa Rosden and 10km from Coimbra, the city walls of the ruins remain largely intact, as do the mosaic floors of many of the houses and buildings. Some of the earliest parts date back as far as the 9th Century BC. The findings from the excavations are dispayed in the museum on site. There is also a cafe/restaurant open to the public.
