Local Markets
Portuguese will shop at local markets which all towns in Portugal will have on at least one day each week. Market day is traditionally a day of socialising with the neighbours too!
Locally grown fruit and vegetables will be in abundance, as well as meat and fish, dried fruit and nuts, flowers and plants, tools, kitchenware, bedding, towels, clothes and shoes. The market is well worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere and maybe grab yourself a bargain!
Some ‘local’ markets you may want to visit while staying at Casa Rosden include
Entroncamento - Saturday
Ansiáo - Saturday
Châos - Sunday
Torres Novas - Tuesday
Alvaiázere - Wed
Penela - Thursday
And of course TOMAR market which is held every Friday near the river……Don’t miss it!
