Ericeira
Ericeira, a pretty little fishing village, perched high on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, is 30 minutes from the magical World Heritage site of Sintra and just an hour and a half drive from Casa Rosden.

With its narrow cobblestone streets, and whitewahed houses, edged in blue, it is recognised gastronomically for the superb quality of its fresh seafood. There are certainly more than 50 ‘ Marisqueiras’ ( seafood restaurants ) offering a variety of dishes.

The Ribeira d’Ilhas is just one of many superb beaches along the Silver Coast and is located between Ericeira and Ribamar. This beautiful sandy cove is considered to be one of the best surfing spots in Europe and is internationally renowned as the venue of the Quicksilver Pro Surfing Championships which have been held here since 1985. It’s also a great place for swimming and sunbathing and the high cliffs over Ribeiras d’Ilhas are a stunningly beautiful backdrop to witness a magnificant sunset, beyond the rolling waves of the Atlantic.
