Central Portugal Beaches
If you love the feel of sand beneath your feet why not expore one of the several beautiful unspoilt beaches around Central Portugal. Here are just two to get you started!
Sâo Pedro de Moel
One of the most popular and picturesque places on the Silver Coast is Sâo Pedro de Moel, just an hour and a half drive away and it will be less once the IC9 road is fully completed. This is a sheltered beach accessed from Marinha Grande near Leiria in Central Portugal. There is a lighthouse worth a visit and it is popular with fishermen too. The northern side of the beach is rocky and a perfect habitat for shellfish, which are served in the many restaurants near the beach.
Praia de Mira
Half way between Figueira da Foz and Aveiro, and around 2 hours from Casa Rosden, located through a pine forest you will discover ‘Praia de Mira’ a village, with the beautiful white beach on one side and a lagoon on the other, where one can hire out paddleboats. The beach is over 300m wide, and seems to stretch for miles with white silk like sand, interspersed with brightly coloured fishing boats. The striped fishermen’s chapel
